Open Gala

Launched in 2014 by the Alexandrion Foundation, the Constantin Brâncoveanu Awards Gala has become one of the most prestigious cultural events in Romania and beyond. Dedicated to honoring excellence in culture and science, the Gala has expanded over the years to the Diaspora and internationally, celebrating personalities whose achievements transcend borders.

The awards bear the name of Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu, a visionary ruler of Wallachia who, during his 25-year reign, profoundly shaped the development of arts, science, and culture. His legacy endures as a symbol of tradition, identity, and modernity—values at the heart of the Gala.

A Celebration of Excellence

Each year, a distinguished jury of experts and cultural leaders selects awardees based on rigorous criteria, recognizing either the significance of recent projects or the enduring impact of entire careers.

Past laureates have included actors, directors, writers, musicians, visual artists, historians, doctors, economists, and architects—all personalities whose work has left a lasting mark on society.
