In an effort to stablize in Romania a highest level debate frame, a communication platform among professionals, decision makers and audience, at both national and international level, The Alexandrion Foundation initiated „The Sinaia Debates” in 2017. The concept was created starting from the need of the Romanian audience to receive answers to key questions related to essential topics for a society.
The first three editions of „The Sinaia Debates” took place at Montana Hotel from Sinaia and had international participants. The debates themes were „The Lawful State. Premises, Conditions, Functioning” (2017), „The Economy of the East. Post-austerity and its Perspectives” (2018) and „The Education Crisis. State Indicators and Solutions (2019)”. This year, The Alexandrion Foundation has reconfigured the event’s format, to be able to meet the legislative measures in force, imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
To make the best of the most important ideas presented and discussed during „The Sinaia Debates”, after every edition, the Alexandrion Foundation publishes a volume which includes the contributions of all the speakers. The volumes are important information and documentation sources for all those interested in the debated themes. The works of the first two editions were gathered and edited in volumes published by Meteor Publishing House in Bucharest and Ecou Transilvan Publishing House in Cluj-Napoca.
