The fourth edition of the Alexandrion Trophies Gala has nominated the winners. In the presence of almost 300 guests, prizes were awarded to the best 11 Romanian athletes of last year.
”We are already at the fourth edition of the Alexandrion Trophies, the Foundation continues to support the performance sports and its young hopes. We are glad that with us, in the hall, there are so many big names of Romanian sports. We hope to see ourselves at the 40th edition,” said Mr. Nawaf Salameh, president of the Alexandrion Foundation in the opening speech of the event
The distinctions and financial rewards offered in the event that took place at the Radisson Blu hotel are dedicated to athletes who have achieved outstanding performance in 2018 and this represents the only endeavour of such nature organized by a private entity.
The winners of the fourth gala of the Alexandrion Trophies are:

(fencing: world vice-champion)
Nicolae Onică
(weightlifting: bronze at world championship, European champion)
Loredana Toma
(weightlifting: world champion, European champion)
Mirel Rădoi
(qualifying Romania U21)
Ianis Hagi
(Viitorul – the best Romanian footballer)
Robert Glință
(swimming – silver medal at the European Championship)
Ovidiu Ionescu
(table tennis – silver medal at European Championship)
Mihai Mihuț
(Fights – Gold Medal at European Championship)
For the second time in the history of the Alexandrion Trophies, in 2019, the Alexandrion Foundation also offered four awards dedicated to the young hopes of Romanian sport.
Alexandrion Hope Trophies were awarded to athletes:

(best young Romanian footballer in second football league)
Nicoleta Angelica Muscalu și Pavel Antonia Mihaela
(water jumping – bronze medal at the synchronized platform in the World Championship)
Arian Notrețu
(paralympic sport – champion at swimming)
Special prizes were won by:
Marius Iovi
(injured military in Iraq – Invictus sportisman)
Mircea Lucescu
(Sports Excellence Trophy for the entire career)
Alexandrion Trophies are awarded annualy by the Alexandrion Foundation, following the consultation of over 20 sports editors in Romania, as well as publicly-owned institutions. When choosing winners, is taken accountability of the national and international achievemnts of athletes. In previous editions, 34 Trophies have already been offered.
