“Constantin Br\u00e2ncoveanu” Awards in London<\/strong><\/p>\n

Approximately 150 guests were present at “Constantin Br\u00e2ncoveanu” Awards that took place in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. The Gala, organized by Alexandrion Foundation with the support of the Romanian Embassy in London, at the headquarters of the Romanian Cultural Institute in the Capital of Great Britain, was dedicated to the success of Romanians settled in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Five of the Romanians who represent our country with pride abroad were rewarded for the successes and the work carried out by each of them in their fields of activity.<\/p>\n

The Special Award of Alexandrion Foundation\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A special award of the Foundation was granted to Vladimir Jurowski for his services to Romanian culture. Since 2017, Vladimir Jurowski has been the artistic director of George Enescu Festival, one of the largest classical music events in Europe.<\/p>\n

\u201d For 4 years we have established “Constantin Br\u00e2ncoveanu” Awards – in honour of the Romanian culture, awards meant to reward the great cultural and scientific performances of the elites in this country in Eastern Europe. Br\u00e2ncoveanu Awards are so popular in our country that some have compared them to famous international awards. (\u2026) But the Romanians are not only in their own country. They form important communities in many European countries and even across the ocean, in the US and Canada. The academics and professors in the “Constantin Br\u00e2ncoveanu” Awards jury have proposed to us to extend the area of our awards also to the Romanians performing abroad, integrated into the respective societies and cultures. Some of them are even heads and respected personalities in the countries they live in. This fact determined us to go out of Romania, to honour our victorious and performant compatriots through the wide world. Today, we have stopped at the Romanian citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain. We bring them our appreciation. At the same time, we want the “Constantin Br\u00e2ncoveanu” awards to honour also the European spirit, open to Romania, of some British citizens close to our country and appreciated in Romania\u201d,\u00a0said Nawaf Salameh, president of Alexandrion Foundation.<\/p>\n

The Jury\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The president of the jury of these awards was the academician Dan Berindei, Vice-President Univ. Prof. Andrei Marga. Part of the jury were: Prof. univ. dr. Grigore Constantinescu, \u0218tefan R\u00e2mniceanu \u2013 artist plastic, Academy Award and Br\u00e2ncoveanu awards winner and Dumitru Constantin \u2013 secretary of the Jury. According to “Constantin Br\u00e2ncoveanu” Awards Gala, each laureate received a special distinction and a bronze piece of art of the reputed sculptor Ion Bolborea.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
