Constantin Brâncoveanu Awards Gala 2023
Select edition:The Alexandrion Foundation proudly announced the laureates of the 10th edition of the Constantin Brâncoveanu Awards Gala, a celebration of remarkable achievements in culture and science. Held at the Alexandrion Experience Hotel in Sinaia, the Gala honored personalities whose work in the previous year, or throughout their careers, has made a lasting impact across seven distinguished fields: film, history, theater, architecture, visual arts, literature, and music.
Special awards
Continuing its tradition of honoring humanitarian contributions, the Foundation presented three special awards:
His Beatitude Raphael Bedros XXI Minassian, Catholicos and Patriarch of the Armenian Catholic Church of Cilicia – Special Award for the contribution to the Middle East peace and religious dialogue.
Can Arap – Special Award for the work on behalf of the victims of the earthquakes that struck Turkiye and Syria in February 2023.
Dr. Lisa Liberatore – Special Award for the work on behalf of adults with autism in association with the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons (New York, USA).
Matei Brâncoveanu Award
History - Lucian Vasile for his work “The War of Spies: The Secret Actions of the Romanian Exile at the Beginning of Communism.”

Theatre
Ada Hausvater
Award for leadership in theatre and outstanding presence of the National Theatre "Mihai Eminescu" in Timișoara within the "Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture".
Literature
Mircea Platon
Award for the outstanding contribution as poet and essayist in 2022.
Film
Dorel Vișan
Award for an exceptional career.
Music
Doina Rotaru
Award for an exceptional career.
Visual Arts
Ștefan Pelmuș
Awarded for an exceptional career
Architecture
Daniel Zielinski and Maximilian Zielinski
Award for the work completed in 2023: "Collective housing 10-14 Rabat Street".
History
Acad. Prof. Univ. Dr. Ioan-Aurel Pop
Award for the book "Romanian Medieval Institutions. The nobility and nobiliary assemblies in Transylvania between the 14th and 16th centuries"

Artistic Highlights
The Gala was brought to life with memorable artistic performances, including soprano Irina Baianț, pianist Marius Deneș, and the crossover group Brio Sonores, accompanied by the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Andrei Tudor, creating an unforgettable celebration of Romanian culture and artistry.
